Favre a Jet

So the Jets finally have their marquee quarterback: Brett Favre is a New York Jet.It has been confirmed that Favre has officially been traded to the Jets, despite his preference for other teams and reluctance to move to New York.  I’m not sure this is the right move: I’d thought all along that the Jets already had their star quarterback, and that they were missing a competent offensive line to protect him.  I guess I was wrong; surely, the Jets’ brass must know more than I do.  I guess we’ll see what happens.

But since the Jets have got Favre for a single year, and since they’ll surely trade Chad Pennington as as result, and even if they go .500 this year (which is doubtful; can’t wait to see a 38-year-old Favre running for his life two seconds after every snap), next year’s already looking to be another disaster.

  1. I like Brett Favre and respect his decision to continue playing with the hapless Jets. However, Brett Favre has no idea what he has gotten himself into. The New York media is NOTHING like the Green Bay media which treated him like a legend and icon for many years. A few bad games (and there will be many of those) the media will be in his grill and poor Brett will quickly question WHY he came out of retirement. Good luck Brett!
